Great Hospital Engineering Conference at the Technical Hochschule Amberg-Weiden

Over 200 participants from 40 countries came to the @Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Amberg-Weiden to attend the first international conference on "Hospital Engineering Trends - Architecture meets Technology" in Weiden. Dr. Birgit Dietz, representing the Bavarian Institute of Architecture for the Elderly and Cognitively Impaired, spoke about “Age- and dementia-sensitive architecture for healthcare facilities”.

In her view, we need to bring health technology companies and university researchers together to communicate and disseminate the specific needs of elderly patients and people with dementia. In her words: “This is crucial as more and more people are now getting older and older. This means we have more and more elderly patients in hospitals. As we age, our physical, sensory and cognitive abilities begin to decline, so it is imperative that we do what we can to adapt architecture, design and technology to meet the needs of the elderly and people with dementia.”

A very special thank you to @Prof. Dr. Clemens Bulitta and @Kathrin Obendorfer from the Technische Hochschule Amberg-Weiden and to the @HT-Group for making this international convention possible and for the perfect organisation!
